LOL see the pun there LOL
LOL I can't believe the adds RCU has had over the years, surly RCU does not monitor their adds.. crazy,

Thanks for the kind words, if a plane has the words E-flight associated with it, it gets the leprosy treatment at my house. I have two 50's left, one is special, a gift from Mike H. I won't part with it. I am going to build a foam core plane from scratch for a 50.

Stingy on fuel and long on power for its size.
I have been happy with a few of em...
I had an L4 on floats in the Goldberg anniversary kit.
It was so pretty breaking the lock and riding up off the water.
The Saito ran a 12/9 wood if I remember right. Super quick spool up with minimum spray with the light wood prop.
Flat out fun and stunning flying by....
Love them Saitos

I went to a local small Airport today with my grandson. As you can see he got to sit in the Miss America Mustang. The plane's babysitter aand I got into a conversation about the modifications of the engine. She wears modified engine heads to cool the engine better and improve the performance. Its a two seater model, he said the rear seat is really hot sitting on top of the radiator. As you can tell from pictures 3 and 4 I didn't turn down the offer to check out the pilot's office. Its amazing how tight the cockpit is. The B-29 Doc was there and busy taking paying passengers for rides. The cost was $600 to $1600 depending on which seat you are in. Too rich for my blood!

Took the H9 P-47 out for a few more flights yesterday. My fa180 deadsticked on the maiden last week due to debris in the spray bar. Cleaned up the entire fuel system and the 180 ran great.

All went well until I lowered the gear and saw some black thing fall off the plane on the base turn. Did a dirty pass and yep, one of the main wheels was missing. So I had a choice, should belly land with gear up or side slip and land on one wheel? I made the wrong choice, tore out the landing gear during a very poor attempt at a one wheel landing.
More fix'n
I can say I enjoyed the flights but a P-47 ain't no P-51. I expected the fa180 to haul that 12.75 lb. plane around faster than it did with an apc 16x8 at 9000 rpm. Straight and level I estimate it was doing 45 to 50, I expected closer to 60. The engine was sagging in the turns more than I expected and the engine never really unloaded in the air, except on dives. There's a LOT of drag with that airframe. No way I'm putting that fa150 back in.
